Miami

The Miami International Autodrome is a 5.412 km temporary circuit with 19 corners, built each year in and around the private grounds of the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. It was designed by Apex Circuit Design and uses permanent asphalt paths and car parks, so it is a mix of purpose-built and street-style sections. The first sector is a fast, sweeping set of S-bends; Turns 6 to 8 form a triple-apex left-hander that loads the front-right tyre.

There are two main braking zones for overtaking, at Turn 11 after the long back straight and at Turn 17 at the end of the following straight. The Turn 14–15 chicane has an uphill approach and a downhill exit. The surface was resurfaced in 2023 after drivers criticised the grip levels of the first race, and the lap record of 1:29.708 was set by Max Verstappen that year. In the 2026 regulations, teams can flatten the wings for Straight Mode after Turn 8 through Turn 11, between Turns 16 and 17 and on the start-finish straight.

Miami was added to the calendar in 2022, and the first race was held on 8 May 2022 (the circuit opened on 7 May). Max Verstappen won it for Red Bull Racing and again in 2023, after starting from 9th place on the grid. The track was resurfaced for 2023 after drivers criticised its surface.

Lando Norris took the first F1 victory of his career here in 2024, in his fourth season and for McLaren, and Oscar Piastri won for McLaren in 2025. In September 2024 four further layouts were built at the stadium grounds to allow year-round use for other racing series; the Grand Prix layout itself is dismantled after each race weekend.

The 2026 race, the fifth Miami Grand Prix, was started three hours earlier than scheduled because of the risk of heavy rain. Kimi Antonelli started from pole with 1:27.798 and won for Mercedes by 3.264 seconds ahead of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, his third victory in a row. There were several collisions at the start, including one between Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, and Leclerc later received a 20-second penalty for track-limit violations.
